Russia’s AvtoVAZ not to resume production of cars on Monday

MOSCOW, Apr 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ is not going to resume production on Monday, but will only relaunch the departments connected to development of new projects and to bookkeeping and accounting, the company’s labor union said in a statement on its Vkontakte page.

“Dear workers of the plant! In accordance with ruling 212 of the Samara Region’s government made on April 3, AvtoVAZ continues operations that are allowed by legislation for a system-forming company during the days that were announced as off days,” the statement read.

“This is why some departments connected to development of new projects and the departments connected to bookkeeping and accounting and labor protection and security will restart operations on April 6. Under the same ruling, the heads of the departments have authorized transfers of some employees into a working from home regime.”
